D&D - When Shadows Fall: Part One
Dungeons & Dragons
Casual
2022-08-28
13:00:00

It was supposed to be an easy escort mission for the local merchants' guild. The party finds themselves in a land that seems familiar, but something is...off. Now, it's a race against time before this strange, new land claims them once and for all. One ticket secures your spot at the table for all six sessions of this campaign.

This adventure contains mature themes and is intended for adults (18+). Please note that this campaign will deal with strong emotional/psychological themes. Your DM will take measures to ensure the comfort and safety of all players. (See Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft for more information on playing in horror-themed games.)

Event Dates: 8/28, 9/4, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25 & 10/2

Event Time: 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Plot Summary: The mission was easy enough, but the easy ones are the most likely to go sideways. This one didn't just go sideways—it went upside down. Now, the group finds themselves in familiar, but strange surroundings while being guided by a mysterious benefactor. They need to find a way out before they are completely claimed by this strange, new world. Besides the threat to their own minds and spirits, the party must also contend with the hazards they'll need to overcome to make sure that the shadows fall.

About the Dungeon Master: Your DM is James Gallagher. He's a musician, former SCAdian, weaver, brewer, leatherworker, LARPer, gamer, and all-around nerd. He works a pretty uninteresting office job, but on weekends, he can usually be found hunched over his workbench, loom, or paint station working on some project or another.

He's been playing TTRPGs since 1980 (starting with D&D), and began playing tabletop miniatures games shortly after (starting with Rogue Trader). In the intervening 40+ years, he's played (and GMed) Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Paranoia (from the original box set thru to XL), White Wolf's World of Darkness (the longest single game he's run. The chronicle ended after a 22-year run!), Fading Suns, Earthdawn, Pendragon, The Morrow Project, Dungeons & Dragons first through fifth editions, Shadowrun, and Call of Cthulhu. Future games he's looking forward to bringing to players include ROOT RPG, Old Gods of Appalachia, Coyote & Crow, and Land of Eem.

What to Bring: Players will bring a fifth level character using any of the official D&D sourcebooks through to Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse. Players can choose to use either standard array, point buy, or by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die. Characters can choose to have two common or one uncommon magic item. Players should write a short (two paragraph or so) background for their characters, and be sure to chose Personality Traits for their character. If players have a miniature they wish to use, please bring it. Sourcebooks will be available, if requested. Bring your dice, though loaner sets will be available if needed.
