D&D - Trouble at Nightstone: One-Shot

Odd events are occurring to the south in the city of Nightstone, a strange cave has appeared after an earthquake. You are to discover if it poses a significant danger to the Lady, her new keep, and burgeoning town. Will this be were you make your mark on The Sword Coast? One ticket secures your spot at the table for this one-shot adventure. This session will be an introduction to the happenings on The Sword Coast, and a longer campaign in the same world will follow this one-shot!

This adventure contains mature themes and is intended for adults (18+).

Plot Summary: It is the year of the Prince, 1357, so named by Augutra the Mad. It is the 21st of Kython, the Time of Flowers with the heat of Summer-tide just beginning. The last few years have been troubling for the Realms. An angel Zariel rallied an army of warriors out of Elturel and into Avernus, hoping to defeat the evils in the Hells. She did not return.

The Zhentarim and Cult of the Dragon have grown in power, attacking Shadowdale and areas nearby, and Dragonspear castle has fallen to the Devils once again.

Though here have been some bright points as well. The great White Worm, Icingdeath, was slain in the Reghed Glacier of Icewind Dale—they say by a party led by a Drow, no less. The great Shadow Dragon, Shimmergloom, was killed, and the dwarf Bruenor Battlehammer has become the eighth king of Mithril Hall. The Lady Laeral Silverhand has been freed of a foul enchantment by her betrothed "The Blackstaff" and roams the city of Waterdeep once again, helping the downtrodden.

Each of you came to Waterdeep for you own reasons, but after being there less than a week, you were approached by a member of the semi-secret organization know as the Red Sashes. They tell you that odd events are occurring to the south in Nightstone, and that a strange cave has appeared after an earthquake. You are to discover if it poses a significant danger to the Lady, her new keep, and burgeoning town. It was said that a significant patron of the city, a hidden lord no less, was your benefactor, and that you would be well rewarded for completing the task set before you. The Sashes informed you that a caravan would be waiting for you in the morning if you chose to take up the offer.

Then next morn, you awoke early and made your way to the Trade Gate and joined the caravan south.

About the Dungeon Master: Your DM is Kurk Wartburg. This is his first 5E campaign, I am used to running a mixture of my own content intermixed with reworked modules or adding in official content. His greatest aspiration is causing his players to be unsure, and sometime scared or awed, when they think they know what is coming next! He has been a DM since the 80s, playing or DMing from Basic rules to 3.5. He likes to run tougher adventures, making players think about their actions instead of running in, and what the consequences maybe for not just the other PCs, but perhaps the town or coastline at large.

What to Bring: You will need a level one character, and your DM suggests having a second sheet with them leveled to two as well. You may choose from nearly any official D&D source. Contact your DM with questions about characters ideas. You may be any alignment; just know that there are laws and a price for breaking them. No homebrew. Basic gear and point buy stats.

DAMAGES & ISSUES
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we canevaluate the issue and make it right.


EXCEPTIONS & NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


EXCHANGES
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.


REFUNDS
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund, too.
