D&D - King of Kings V: Part One
Dungeons & Dragons
Casual
2022-09-08
18:00:00

This is an ongoing campaign.

The King of Kings stirs. Is this now his time? What does your parent's death have to do with him? And what the heck is the rod of seven parts...and was that a Githyanki silver sword?

This is an ongoing campaign that will be scheduled in blocks of four sessions. During the third session of each block, current players will be given the opportunity to sign up for the next four-week block, after which any open spots will be offered to new players. One ticket secures your spot at the table for all four sessions of this block.

This adventure contains mature themes and is intended for adults (18+).

Event Dates: 9/8, 9/15, 9/22 & 9/29

Event Time: 6:00PM - 9:00PM

Plot Summary: Do I have your attention? Good! By the end of this campaign, players will go up against one of the worlds' most villainous beings...but first, they gather in Morhelm, a small town in the northern highlands, for the funeral of one of their parents. From there, their search for answers will lead them on a journey that spans multiple worlds. Let the games (and surprises) begin!

As players progress, there will be homebrew rules and effects in place. They'll visit worlds from many 5E sources, including places like the Iron Kingdoms and Midgard.

This adventure is intended to be an open-ended, long-term campaign for friends old and new. While there will be a main theme to the game, every player will also have the chance to explore their own story, no matter their history, goals, or desires. This is not a meticulously preplanned campaign. The DM and players will be building the story together at the table. The DM will be there to entertain you, challenge you, and leave you excited to meet your fate—even if it isn't a pleasant one!

About the Dungeon Master: Your DM is Eric Davis. He's the guy that was always asked to DM, and he's been running campaigns longer then many have walked this planet (40+ years). He is a seasoned and scarred old beard who cut his teeth in First Edition. After wrappgin up his home games, he encountered the Academy, where his connections with fellow players and DMs have convinced him, a self-described crusty veteran, dust off his books and return to behind the screen.

His style, to quote the infamous Captain Barbossa, is that “the code is more what you call guidelines than actual rules.” He believes that the rules are there to help and guide the game, but that there's always room for things that are heroically dumb, full of flair, or outright fun and crazy. The dice will decide!

If you want to metagame/power game, he's likely not your DM. He believes the best part of DMing is watching players discover the mystery of the game and its rewards.

What to Bring: Please bring a level three character. Race must be a Player's Handbook race, Genasi, or Goliath (there is an in-game reason for this). Other character choices may pull from the Player's Handbook and up to two other official sourcebooks. Stats should use the point-buy system with no scores above 18 to start.

Please bring a background. You may use the Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, Eberron, etc. as your home base—the DM will work out the how you got to Morhelm. In your background, include something that you want to achieve, get, or do. Write this on a separate sheet of paper and be ready to give it the the DM at your first session.
