
A dreadful attack on a noble family’s midwinter extravaganza taints the celebration with unholy malice. The authorities have closed down the event preventing anyone from entering or leaving the family’s fortified villa. Can you and your companions discover who has mounted this infernal attack and save the holiday? One ticket secures your spot at the table for this one-shot campaign.

Plot Summary: This year’s Midwinter Carnival is held in Highport’s glamorous Sunset Fell district. The festivities include a bustling outdoor holiday market and special performances at the Cassantler Villa, which the Cassalanter family have graciously opened to the public for the duration of the holiday. The pleasant atmosphere is tainted when the famed opera singer, Aria Cavatina is attacked by a tiny fiend that seemingly appears out of nowhere. The City Watch shuts down the event, holding guests in the villa for questioning until the culprit can be identified. With an estate full of the city’s most prominent citizens and a family with a secret so dark they'll do anything to protect it, mayhem and mystery await this Midwinter!
About the Dungeon Master: Your DM is Andrew Smith. Not only is he a skilled game master, he’s a former educator, a computer programmer, and a father. He’s a friend of the Academy and we know he will be your friend as well.
What to Bring: Players will portray well-to-do guests at the celebration. Please create your own third level character, or arrive ten minutes early to choose a pregenerated character for this one-shot. Dice and a miniature to represent your character would be welcome but are not required.
Create your character using a combination of the Player's Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, and Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. Stats should use the point-buy system or the standard array. Characters may start with any non-magical equipment from the Player’s Handbook that makes sense for the holiday occasion.
Players who share some character details with the DM in time for the game may choose from a list of magic items to start with. DAMAGES & ISSUES
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged, or if you receive the wrong item, so that we canevaluate the issue and make it right.
EXCEPTIONS & NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like used goods (such as pre-owned games or models), perishable goods (such as food), custom products (such as special orders), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
EXCHANGES
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
REFUNDS
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund, too.
